INDICATIONS

Nobilis® REO 2177 is indicated for the active immunisation of chickens to reduce tenosynovitis and associated disease symptoms induced by Reovirus infection. The vaccine can be given as from 1-day of age and is effective in the presence of maternally derived antibodies and is also effective as a primer to inactivated Reovirus vaccines.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Store between 2 ºC and 8 ºC in a refrigerator. 
  • Do not freeze.
  • Protect from light.
  • After reconstitution, use within 3 hours.

COMPOSITION

Nobilis® REO 2177 is a live non-pathogenic Reovirus strain 2177 containing at least 3,1 log10 TCID50 per dose in a stabiliser. The vaccine may contain traces of antibiotics as remnants of production.

WARNINGS

  • Withdrawal period: No withdrawal period.
  • Vaccinate healthy chickens only.
  • Avoid intravenous injection.
  • Do not mix this vaccine with other vaccines.
  • Do not use in birds during lay.
  • In the case of accidental self-injection, consult a physician.
  • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, UNINFORMED PERSONS AND ANIMALS.
  • Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Observe aseptic precautions. Ensure that all vaccination equipment (needles, syringes, etc.) is clean and sterile prior to, and during use.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and sterile during vaccination.
  • It is good vaccination practice when handling the vaccine to avoid contact with the eyes, hands and clothing.
  • Destroy any unused vaccine and dispose of all the empty vaccine containers and disposable equipment after use in accordance with National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 59 of 2008).

DIRECTIONS FOR USE – USE ONLY AS DIRECTED

Dosage and Administration

  • Dissolve freeze-dried pellet in diluent for Marek’s Disease vaccines.
  • Inject 0,2 mℓ per chicken subcutaneously into the lower back part of the neck or intramuscularly into the muscle of the leg.
  • Use a sterile syringe and needle.

PRESENTATION

Each box contains 10 vials.

Each vial contains 1 000 or 2 500 doses per vial.
