Solution for oral dosing
INDICATIONS
A ready-to-use wireworm and nasal worm remedy for sheep.
COMPOSITION
Contains: Trichlorfon 20 % m/v
*Organophosphate
CAUTION
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
- Store in a cool, dry place at or below 25 °C.
- Keep container tightly closed.
WARNINGS
- Withdrawal period: Do not slaughter animals for human consumption within 7 days of treatment.
- Do not mix or dilute with any other deworming product, solvent or unspecified substance.
- Sheep must be inoculated against pulpy kidney (enterotoxaemia) before dosing.
- Animals with severe anaemia and/or stress should be handled with great care during dosing.
- Keep away from food and drink.
- KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, UNINFORMED PERSONS AND ANIMALS.
- Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.
Note to physician: This is an organophosphate containing product. In the event of human consumption, keep patient fully atropinised and use 2-PAM.
Note to veterinarian: In the event of overdosing of an animal, give atropine sulphate intravenously at a rate of 1,0 mg/10 kg repeatedly to attain effect and thereafter repeat as needed to maintain atropinisation at a rate of 0,5 mg/10 kg. Inject 2-PAM intravenously at a rate of 50 mg/kg.
PRECAUTIONS
- Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst handling the product.
- Avoid contact of the product with the eyes, skin and mouth. Splashes must be washed immediately with large quantities of water.
- Wash hands after use.
- Dispose of any containers, disposable equipment and any other waste after use, in accordance with National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 59 of 2008) and do not reuse for any other purpose.
- Do not contaminate rivers, dams or any water sources with containers or waste.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE – USE ONLY AS DIRECTED
Shake well before use.
Ready-to-use solution for oral dosing.
Dosage:
- Dose 50 mg/kg body weight – i.e., 2,5 mℓ/10 kg body weight. This dose rate also controls the Kokstad strain of Haemonchus contortus.
- For the Nooitgedacht strain of Haemonchus contortus, dose 4 mℓ/10 kg body weight.
- For Oestrus ovis, dose 4 mℓ/10 kg body weight.
